REEF RETREAT

A welcoming event for reef aquarium lovers, including hobbyists, scholars, and experts. Attendees can enjoy cozy accommodations, meals, and all programs at a fair, all-inclusive price. The two-day conference starts early Saturday morning, and ends Sunday at 6 pm. Attendees should arrive Friday afternoon or evening for registration and a social event. After the conference, they can leave Sunday evening or choose to stay until Monday to enjoy local sites.

The main campus is located in Bristol, Rhode Island, a historic town, home to the nation’s oldest Fourth of July parade. The campus sits on a sprawling 143 acres overlooking Mount Hope Bay and is just minutes from downtown Bristol—home to restaurants, ice cream shops, boutiques and antique shops, the East Bay Bike Path and Colt State Park. Just a half hour drive from both Providence and Newport, Rhode Island’s beach capital, and a 60-minute drive from Boston. New York is just three-hours away.

RWU’s unique and innovative program in Aquaculture and Aquarium Science is offered in partnership with the New England Aquarium in Boston, Students study and conduct research in the state-of-the-art Marine and Natural Sciences Building, which is home to nearly 200 aquaria, the state’s only shellfish hatchery, and our renowned tropical marine ornamental program.
